Description

One of my favorite aircraft of all time. The B-17 Flying Fortress, one of Boeing's greatest aircraft of World War II. This one is called The Texas Raider and is part of The Commemorative Air Force here in Texas.

A wonderful shot of a wonderful plane. I really like the lively colors and the sharp details, the plane seems to stand still in the air (no motion blur except the propellers).

I really would love to get to know more about the plane and its history - where was it stationed? What did it live through? If you could get your hands on it, adding a little more historic or technical information (as far as I know there were countless version of the B-17) would make this photo even more remarkable.

Anyhow, really loving the picture. Taking a "simple" documentary photo seems to be a dying art. Please keep up your wonderful work. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/>
