Enjoy the little things in life, it's too short not to. One of the things that I have noticed about Bill and Suki in the zoo is that they seem to enjoy everything. Food, toys, treats, laying in the sun on a cool day and Suki even enjoys being out in the rain. There's something to take away from that. Enjoy the now and be happy. Be happy for whatever good is in your life, be it your friends, your opportunities, even something as small as being able to stand in the sun...or, if you prefer, the rain. Every day is a new chance, so enjoy it. It seems rather fitting that the smallest fox in North America can teach such a large lesson about small things, and it's a pretty simple one; enjoy life.
Lessons from the Animals: Gray Fox
Lessons From the Gray Fox A little kindness and a lot of hard work can make all the difference. So this one is a little bit fox and a little bit human. Loki, this little fox, was found in someone's garage stealing dog food. The people that found him waited around for his mother to show up but after 4 days the house owners called Texas Parks and Wildlife. The TPW deemed him unable to be released because of human dependency and he was incredibly malnourished (dog food doesn't have what fox kits need) and had some sort of infection. They needed to place him or he would be euthanized. The Texas Zoo stepped up and took in this weak, sick fox kit. When Loki arrived, they weren't sure that he was going to make it. He was really skinny and wasn't in the best health. But several zookeepers stayed and cared for him for the first few days they had him in quarantine and he slowly came around. His odds still weren't great but he was improving. After a lot more effort, he was finally able to
Lessons From the Animals: Fox
Okay everyone, I know that it's been about a year or two since we've had one of these, so I'm going to go over the basics and some modifications to the old format. Firstly, this is a journal series that I came up with all the way back in 2011 (Yes, I'm old) while photographing various animals up in Alaska. While I was up there, I was struggling with some tough decisions and I got the answer I wanted by watching a few Sea Otters. After that, I thought about all the things that animals seemed to know instinctively that frustrated us poor ignorant humans and the series was born. I also thought that it would be nice to feature some photos of the animals that inspired the lesson and to share art of the same type of animal by other artists. In the previous set of journals, I had a strict set of rules regarding the artwork I featured (i.e. under 200 favs, recent artist activity, no anthro characters, no fan art etc.) but I've loosened those restrictions. I've also decided to try to
Instagram Profile
Hey Everyone!
So I'm going with the advice from a close friend of mine who recommended I get an Instagram account for my photography.
If you'd like to follow it, my account is @wildcardphotographyTX and I'll be uploading photos there as well as here. However, I'm going to be submitting some of my older stuff on my Instagram to start out with. So you might get to see some shots you wouldn't normally without digging through my gallery.
I appreciate all the support you guys have given me over the years, and I hope to keep bringing you photos for many years to come!
Back
And we are back...mostly. The cursed project at work seems to be wrapping up and all of my photos are snuggly in the USCO's hands. So Everything will be back to normal shortly I hope. I also have a trip back to Alaska planned for September, but seeing as I'm still uploading photos from October I'm not sure when those will be posted...maybe by 2025. Anyway, just be ready for a few photos every day so I can get caught up where I need to be.

I really do love your "Lessons" journal series, even if I don't comment as much as I should.
